To nezkeyz79 I am not sure I understand your point....the piece that these two are playing is 100% improvised; all of jazz music improvised meaning every note is spontaneous and unpredictable!

Typically jazz is mostly improvised, this is not to say it is completely formless, unless it is "free jazz" usually the musicians decide on a very rough basic form, basically a simple road map that they will improvise over, however, when a musicians ears are good enough after years of playing, they can hear what the other is doing and essentially have a conversation as people would with any language. You don't need to plan out a conversation your going to have with somebody right?? Same idea.

I remember see the both of them at Chick Corea's 60th birthday celebration at the Blue Note in NY. I went home and practiced until the sun came up. It was very inspiring and intense.
