Why Lucas picked him is beyond my understanding. Honestly, the kid who played little Anakin wasn't good either. What's with both of those Anakins not acting half-way decent?

screw both of you. I think he did a great job. That scene in episode 2, where he told Padme he killed the sand people, that was a verry emotional scene. and I for one think he nailed it. the voice over, how ever could use some work...

It most surely wouldnt have been the better ending.if this was the actual ending, everything that happened in the first 3 classic films would all be for shit, Vader would never have his armor,Obi-Wan and Yoda would just disappear, and who knows what would happen to Luke and Leia since Padme was still sitting in the ship.

How the presequel should have ended. Darth Vader should have been the Sith master in Starwar trilogy.
So when Darth Vader said "Together we can rule the galaxy as father and son." He really did mean it.

well, who knows, Vader could have gotten his armor slowly, after each injury , after killing each surviving Jedi master. Only the strong or lucky managed to survive the initial cull.
(unlikely) Obi-wan could have survived the slash and was saved by somebody else (Ahsoka?).

Goddamn I can't stand to it when people change the authors story to suit them. There's a reason George Lucas wrote the story his way. He may not say it, but you know it pisses him off.
