My Cherrywood Levitron

Levitron: An amazing discovery from R.Harrigan.
For over 150 years people thought that this would never fly.
A 19th century mathematician named Earnshaw also developed a theorem that excluded steady levitation by only using permanent magnets!
This little device prove them all wrong!
In my cherrywood Fascinations video version of the Levitron the total flight time is 2:38, levitation height: ~2 inches.
Weights: 1 big plastic, 1 medium plastic, 1 small plastic and 1 medium brass ring.
Special effects: Green Screen background keying with nebula & pale starfield.

The height of the cherry wood base is adjustable by 3 base legs and it's about 4-6cm tall.
The cherry wood base is not big, its about the same size as medium size plate.
Moreover, the cherrywood levitron makes a nice looking furniture in the rest position.
Just make sure you don't place it near a computer, monitor, harddrive or any other magnetic storage mean, because the levitron base has a very strong neodymium magnet.

How long did it take you before you could do it? I've been practicing on mine for about four hours total, and I'm up to the point where I can spin it pretty consistently, but every time I lift it veers off to the side.

this is fake. he spins the top and at the tip of the top there is a magnet. the platform is also a magnet so when he spins the top and he lifts the glass, the magnetic platform pushes the top up causing it to float. but it is not really a levitation so dont waste ur money buying it

I disagree. Levitron is purely based on scientific principles. A delicate balance performed inside a magnetic field by opposing permament magnet and by the principle of the gyroscopes.
And of course it levitates countering the gravity vector. And ofcourse it mimics antigravity effects.
It's a wonderful, clever, delicate, state of the art invention in the verge of the antigravity era.

yrotstsohgallet: Levitron delicate levitation balance depends also on weather condition, room temperature etc. Try adjusting the base screws and the weights of the antigravity top.

sounds like you needed to adjust the base to get it to the right level,try slightly raising on the side that it falls to
and best to do it on a constant solid surface to start with,so you can easily recreate when you get it to work
took me about 30 min at first,but just a few minutes to set it up now
