Sara Baras is not gypsy. and flamenco is not a gypsy dancing. Flamenco is a spanish dancing but spanish gypsys preserved and made it very popular and most of flamenco masters are gypsys for example Camaron de la isla, Joaquin Cortés, Rafael amargo, because they born with flamenco in their veins. But There are gypsys all over Europe and they don´t know, sing or dance flamenco, because flamenco is part of spanish culture. So, you dont have idea, buddy.

wowee! look at the brain on nhrya! well now, traveling peoples brought a form of early kathak from the jaipur and lucknow gharanas in india (possibly originating from rajasthan region) across westward to eastern and southern europe. the solo dancer, hostoks, non-symmetry of impovised rhythm, percussive footwork are all hallmarks of kathak.

The word Kathak is derived from katha, meaning "the art of storytelling." artists known as Kathakas whose hereditary profession it was to narrate history while entertaining with dance, music and mime. while flamenco is indeed spanish as stated, nothing comes from nowhere, buddy. and those traveling peoples are called roma, or gypsy.

i am not talking about gypsys, their culture or where they come from. Everybody know it. Flamenco is spanish because spain was the only one European country where muslims stayed for 800 years.

flamenco is an evolution of that islamic way to sing mixture characteristics of jewish, gypsy and mozarab culture. with Inquisition all small piece of that culture was eliminated. the gypsies had their own culture, they lived outside big cities and they stayed apart of all christian influence, they saved many ancient traditions. If flamenco would come from the place you say, flamenco would exist in many Europeans countries because there are gypsies all over the world, and this is not the case.

Flamenco born in southern spain from islamic culture.Are u saying about an indian influence?then why after travelling thousands of miles they just brought music?itsnt more logical to think about an islamic influence?islamics lived in this territory from 711 to 1492,they not just left music,but architecture,literature,ideology.we are talking about "origins of flamenco", not origins of gypsy culture.n u are saying flamenco comes from india cause gypsies came from india,and its totally wrong.

Gypsies were an essential part in its creation besides muslims,jewish and mozarabs, but you can not say they brought it from jaipur or wherever u say,cause itsnot true.And i dont need to check a dictionary as u for knowing it. but if u dont trust me as Andalusian, Spanish and historician i am, i will give you some pages to read.

don't worry no one will give you a lesson about anything. how could we? fully psycho at the drop of a hat! you could of course discover for youself what the rest of the world is able to acknowlege with a little curiosity and an open mind you might find the evidence is all out there. so there it is . you're on your own.
