You don't really need or want the Cintiq. A good Wacom tablet will serve you much better than a $1200 Cintiq. It has the cool factor going for it, but professionals don't use it. Take it from someone who makes a living with a tablet. Save your money.

I'm on a Mac Pro dual quad, 23" Cinema display, using a 6x8" Wacom Intuos 2 tablet. No need for a huge tablet - you'll just be moving your arm around more if the tablet is big.

What's ironic is that Corel is demonstrating their product, but the tablet they're using (the Cintiq) is getting all the attention. Not very smart on Corel's part.

Are you kidding? You can trace things on a Cintiq, use physical stencils and guides, and the size of your tablet does A LOT for preventing hand strain. Also, rotating physically is far, far better than hitting "e" and rotating.
For whatever reason, I already guessed you were using a Mac from the tone of your first comments...

Regular Wacom tablets, such as the Intuos, allow you to trace. The tablet is covered with a sheet you can lift up and slide artwork under. I've never done this, but it's possible. Rotating the canvas is not something I ever do, either. My point was that, for most users, a non-Cintiq tablet will serve their needs perfectly. You get used to it quickly --there's no need to draw on a monitor. Your Mac comments/insults seem uncalled for, btw. No need to get rude, is there?

I use both platforms; I think both Mac and PC have their good traits but have a lot to learn. Obnoxious fanboys piss me off. You seem very talented, tho.
I meant you can't trace using physical guides like ellipse guides or a ruler. Did you mean you only use Painter for post-processing of a live photo?

INterface is Photoshop like? Uh, pleeease...
Painter's interface for color adjustments and object transforming is CRAAAAAAPPPPP.
You can't preview it like PS, there's only a small postage stamp sized preview window (apparently the size of this douchebag's dick)
and the and the navigator is slooow sticks to the mouse click (no separate adjustable window like PS) apparentl;y this douchebag is talking out of his ass.

Continued:
terrible layering performance (the app slows down at 20x once a few layers are added) brush arthefacting on some major brushes, and many other performance issuse.
This been doing nothing but sucking Corels execs dicks and cunts and should do us all the favour of firing himself (and throwing himself off of from the top Corel's Corporations building at the same time.

It's like if adobe is paying him you for posting this rude comment on corel software ;) anyway... I'm happy with this, I work fine on this, the brushes are very real, is amazing how you can draw with the charcoal, just like if you were drawing on paper, and the real bristle is wonderful, I don't have the wacom tablet, I have a cheap genius pressure sensitive tablet and the painter X works great on it. Toastyovens you should check the configuration on your machine.

I've been using Painter since version 6. And yes all painter has is the great brush tracking and the brush engine and the shitty-aliased roatet feature. THAT'S IT. And those are the SAME features since painter 6 and hasn'r beeen improved ever since.
If you want unbiased opinions based on facts by REAL USERs (not this COREL PAID DOUCHEBAG, go to cgtalk corel forum and you can read ALL the problems addressed YEARS ago but were ignored COMPLETELY by the overpaid corel fucks who works in India.
