i think these were their 500 backups and theyre bringing in a new car for tommorows race. that car will be the backup for the 500. so they wont be in backups

No, each team typically brings their 500 car, the Shootout car (if they are in the Shootout), and a backup car. The 500 cars are covered up in the garage.

No, Gordon got caught up. It's not like he caused it or just lost it. That was Newman's fault. You shouldn't block in practice, it means nothing.
