his talent is his vision, his sound, the textures in his music, that ghostly/faded/hallucinatory sound, it's TREMENDOUS. If you don't see it, that's fine, perhaps you just have a hard time appreciating the nuances and details of this sort of aesthetic. I'm not trying to offend you at all, either, so don't take this the wrong way.

Everything about this album is so faded, ghostly and sad. Even in his "brighter" albums (House Arrest, Scared Famous) it's that revisiting of archaic qualities of pop music that just strike you with their poignant/disturbing/nostalgic... beauty?

The fact that Ariel's band can't come halfway close to matching his recorded sound is evidence that he alone is something very, very special. No offense to Haunted Graffiti, as i'm sure it's much fun. I just hope that everyone realizes it's very hard to be a solo performer like Ariel Pink and survive in this world without touring nonstop. Someone needs to realize that this guy is on par w/ Brian Wilson(Pet Sounds era)..perhaps even Beethoven, and support, support, support him to no end.
