I'm pretty sure he's still a Scottish citizen.
I mean, he *was* born there. I don't think they can take that kind of citizenship back. Because they can take away his American citizenship, if he like, kills someone or something. And if that happened, and he'd hypothetically lost his British citizenship, he'd be a citizen of... well, nowhere. =/

Sure, if you're born in one country and your parents are from somewhere else etc. I'm talking about making a conscious decision to change your citizenship - I guess the only reason for 'becoming' American would be for money.

mapletreewizard: Not quite, where i live (Sweden) you can have more than one citisenships - by choise, without parents comming from different countries.
But your mileage may vary from country to country like Sacred posted above you.

I am British, but my great grandmother is Australian and I live in USA and currently hold a British, American, AND an Australian passport. And I am eligible for "tri-citizenship"!!!
