i agree with this guy. i used weights on the incline bench while doing situps and the muscles just POPPED out of the belly. i forgot about using weights on the knee raises and other ab work. hopefully that can stimulate more muscle growth. i did never go beyond 50 reps when doing abs - the average was between 20-30 reps.

how does it not makes sense if someone tells you something and you dont beleive them. like the video you said What's the evidence for this its common since your abdominal muscle's are the same as any other muscle cuzz you can over train any muscle in your body. well im talking repetion part all that cave man bull shit is kinda stupid.

huh? sorry, you clearly didn't understand my post... all I asked was why the poster thought abdominal muscles are somehow different from other muscles in the body... of course you can overtrain any muscle, either by too much volume or too much load... I was just curious why he thought that... have noooo idea what you're rambling on about... peace :)

i use a back pack full of weights and stuff 80-90 lbs into a back pack and hold it round my chest and do decline half sit ups 3 sets of between 4-8 reps. that move there with added weight muscled up my midsection more than anything else.i also take some rope and tie the back pack full of some weights onto my shin and ankle area. and do sets of leg raises 6-12 reps.when i do upper abs which consist of a crunching motion i go a bit lighter 10-15 reps.

Also, your abs are a different kind of muscles than the ones in your upper body. I am not saying don't use weights, but do 10-15 reps of each exercise * 3 * 5-10 different exercises on your abs.
