To me, CGI is ruining live action movies. It just takes the soul out of them. Puppeteering looks so much more realistic, in that one can actually feel its Real presence on the film. Same with modeling...

It doesn't get any realer than the live effects that were perfected in the 1980s. CGI is so painfully obviously fake,it's a cartoon. CGI worked good in Terminator 2,The Abyss,and entirely animated movies like Toy Story,but when it's used to represent solid objects in the live action world,it's so fake.
