vertiis, I woulden't say the drummer's job is simply to keep the beat. You are obviously a guitarist - that is the view of the egocentric lead guitarist, that the drummer is simply there to lay down a beat for the guitarist to do a widdly solo over. Anyway, I never said he was a bad drummer, I just said he could be more creative because his drumming can almost sound like a drum machine at times, which isn't a good thing, even if he is perfectly in time and keeping a solid beat.

Actually cuntybollocks, if you bothered to read what is obvious and not what you think people say you'd know I didn't say the only job of a drummer is to keep the beat, I said it was the MAIN job, they can play what the hell they like as long as they hold the song together. And something's only "obvious" if there are facts available to show it's obvious. I've never played guitar but I have played drums for 26 years - If you saw my page you'd know... Wanker

Calm down and don't get so angry, idiot. You are not THE ultimate authority on drumming, cut that holier than thou attitude out now. CLinical and precise isn't always mechanical, (billy cobham is a good example of that) but in this case it is.
I preferred the old machine head drummer to McClain, he was more creative.
Anyway, great song, and great album.

As I said, calm down. I didn't mention buddy rich, i said billy cobham, who isnt dead. I assumed you play guitar because of my knowledge of that kind of person - a lot of guitarists think the drummer is just there to lay a beat for them to be the hero over. I didn't mention black metal or anything, I have no idea how you came to the conclusion that anything I said was elitist. Stop hurling insults at me, it just makes whatever your saying less credible.
