Met a guy who told me Croce died on his father's farm. Story was that the sheriff was going to check him for drugs after the concert. Croce was tipped off. Instead of spending the night, Croce decided to leave that night. Apparently, they were in a hurry and the plane was never warmed up. It struck a tree some distance away from the end of the runway. I am told the tree still stands.

Old beyond his years? Wisdom does that to you but your hearts still strong as an ox. There was more to Jim than just the songs he sang and the words he wrote or co-wrote if thats the case.

i wish i could rate this more than 5 stars. jim croce was an amazing singer/songwriter. this is coming from 31 yr old who listens to mostly metal,industrial, and alternative. i didnt even grow up on him. i know great music when i hear it...and this is it. there isnt much better than jim croce. why do the greats always die young?
