Wow, I am not sure where you were raised but I was always told/taught that we do live in a free market (in America at least). Unfortunately what little freedom the market truly has is overrun by a biased media and controlled by the wealthy elite!

Let me "dick and Jane " it for you. Bill Moyers' forum that he runs his mouth in is a government communication organization (NPR). That means he runs his mouth on yours and my dime. In other words, if he had to market himself and sell himself you would have never heard of him. When I say free market, I'm talking about the communication bussiness, not where you live. Free market communication companies earn their way and also pay for Billy.

Bill moyers is among the best and most respected journalists in America. His books and interviews are legendary. O'Reilly and the Fox network are widely disparaged and are a disgrace to the practice of journalism. National Conference for Media Reform 2008 had Bill Moyers and Dan Rather at their best. Corporate control of the media is very danaging. Important stories like the impeachment of Bush and Cheney are sidelined by the big Republican controlled media outlets. It is repugnant.
