Judy Collins rushes thru this song like being chased by a cop. Joni struggles with this song like having a bad case of constipation. She also smoked all those yrs. to try and dull the continuous pain of a pretzel twisted spinal column. Joni Mitchell is regarded by many as the greatest woman composer, musician, & artist of the 20th century. Research before engaging in backhanded slander.

I disagree with a lot of people here, I feel she is feeling the song and understands it. She is only really smiling when she is singing about her dreaming of love. She looks sad when she's singing about the hurt and disapointment. I think she did a great job depicting the rise and fall of happiness.

Yeah, it's funny how so many people are so critical of one of the best contemporary voices today. Besides, this song could not be covered without permission from the writer Joni Mitchell and obviously she liked it also, or wouldn't of OK'd it. Joni Mitchell is not that shallow to have OK'd it just for some dough, she has plenty. Not that it ever mattered to her.
