heh hence nothing, right? when u reduce the cubic height to 0, then its all gone?

Assuming we are talking about a material cube, not just a mathematical defined one, then yes, it is all gone.
The drawing is made ... ( 1 week ago by epleite1000)
The drawing is made of grafite or ilk, or whatever. All this are made of atoms, hence they are 3-D, hence the 2 axes are 3-D things. Whatever you try, you can't scape the fact that it is impossible to TRULY cut a spatial dimension off.

i cant really imagine existence in the 2nd dimension without viewing it from the 3rd dimension, how would anything be visible with zero height

No, time is a new dimension. You can feel it in each dimesion, but the fourth dimension is the time.

Not necessarily, how do you know that an electron isn't 2, 1 or even zero dimensional. A singularity within a blackhole may have a zero dimension in which case it would have no height. It's believed that all the material in the universe first started as a singularity and would not have had a height.
*sigh* The only ... ( 4 days ago by Herbyy)
*sigh* The only reason time was referred to as the 4th dimension is because we conventionaly think that there is only 3 spatial dimensions. If you have 4 spatial dimensions it would make more sense to call the 4th dimension the "across" dimension and time the 5th dimension; so that the spacial dimensions are referred adjacently to one another. Time is not a 90 degree angled direction from depth so it would make no sense to call the "across" dimension to be the 5th and for time to be 4th.

Of course we can analyze the time, but you cannot touch it etc...

Almost, OctoBox, Mr. Smith tries to sound like Carl Sagan.

A good question. If something really had zero thickness, what would there be for the photons to hit? However, if you had a life form a bit thicker, say, one cell thick but many cells across, like thin pond scum, I would imagine it would see things as graduation along a single line. some parts darker, and some parts brighter. Having something move toward it of it would be like having a dark line slowly grow longer at both ends. A truly 2 dimensional creature would be blind I think.

So the revelation from God that sent through Gabriel (the angel) to Mohammed is finally explainable in science term as the angel came through other dimension.

Of course it would be. A truly flat creature could even have any blood vessels! They would divide it in half.
Flatlanders cannot exist, as far as our understanding of Science goes. And if they did, they could not have any intelligence.
Well, yes. It is ... ( 20 hours ago by loperspest)
Well, yes. It is after all a thought experiment, to help us ponder higher dimensions. But I am not so sure about the intelligence part. Information is stored in two dimensions. The mind is information, therefore I could conceive of an intelligence of two dimensions. If Flatlanders could exist.
*Nod* I'm aware. ... ( 20 hours ago by KyoraMishiso)
*Nod* I'm aware. Its like Einstien's Infinite Elevator. No such thing could exist - but what would happen if it did?
And yes, if Flatlanders could exist, there is nothing that says they would not be able to evolve thought. But it would be nothing like our thought, controlled by brains.
Then again, we can't know.
It makes me wonder, what if there are 'Time-landers' currently talking about 'square-landers' What if they're talking about how we couldn't have bizarre 4 dimensional organs they do.
His what? What is a ... ( 11 hours ago by Lionspoint)
His what? What is a soul if not a anti-science thing that promulgates the idea that the world can be understood through revelation and not reason? If Carl Sagan had a soul then it is being burned forever in hell. Rather, may Carl Sagan be smoking a blunt in the Red Light District in the Afterlife. Yeah, baby, yeah!!! And teaching science all the while...
