That's a good question. This is why when the text for 7, it doesn't a 7 - a line, it says "a point in 7". Likewise if we take the entirety of our 3D universe at this specific "now" it becomes a point in the fourth dimension. You need some other "now" to actually create a line in the fourth dimension. And you need some other point in the seventh dimension to create a line in the seventh dimension - and that point would be one representing all of the possible world lines for a different universe.

oops, apologies for the typos. "World lines" is a phrase quantum physicists like Wheeler and Feynman use to describe the history of an object or a particle through time, so "timelines" is more or less the same concept - in this way of visualizing, all of the possible timelines/world lines for our universe become locked in at the seventh dimension. I have a vlog called "The Spacetime Tree" which relates to this question as well.

I agree, however for those who believe that God and science are the same (i.e. truth is truth) then when it comes to scientific theory this deep, the concept of our relations to God and what dimensions God has access to become a question of contemplation. (though I have not read the comments you were referring too)
did you guys not ... ( 3 weeks ago by shadfurman)
did you guys not get the video at all?! the whole point of the video explains the confusions with time travel. you cannot CHANGE the past because it already exists. every possibility of change in every dimension all exists in the dimension "above" the one we can sense. So you going back in time to change the past would also exist, as well as the changes. Therefor you would not be changing the past at all, but instead start traveling along a line where you changed the past.

This was hard for me to grasp when thinking about branching lines because the number of branching lines would be infinite. But branching lines is a digital thought, if you convert that thought to analog and think about it as... I don't know... splotchy colored water, where every possibility overlays its self (kinda like imagining being a "flatlander" and imagining 3 dimensions)
if you overlay all ... ( 3 weeks ago by shadfurman)
if you overlay all the 2d cross sections you start to get an idea of what the 3d might look like if you were able to sense things in 4D... or is that 5D... idk. I wish other subjects were taught like this, I would have picked up algebra in about 2 days... I still have trouble with non-linear algebra. I don't even know why!

Yeah, it is quite a thought. What do you think on God and the dimensions he has access to? If he created the universe and is omnipotent then surely he has unlimited access to all dimensions? Just like if i built a number of boxes and placed an ant in one, i could place all my fingers into the other boxes since i am "everywhere at oncne" (bit of a crappy illustration but i hope you get where im coming from)
well, first I think ... ( 2 weeks ago by shadfurman)
well, first I think most of the worlds views on God are a little childish. I do believe God is omnipotent within our universe and its laws. But the thought that there is one being and the only being of it's kind in all conceptions of existence to me is silly. Obviously if he was out of time he could have always existed, but since we were not on this world and now we are indicates that he is part of time in some form. How could you do anything if you were outside of time it would already be done.

That would be the concept of Ignosticism. Agonosticism is the Uncertainty about the nature of God. Ignosticism is the Idea that we must first develope a coherent definition of what "God" is before any meaningful discussion or conclusions can occure. With out the actual knowable definition of "God" all discussions toward that end are baseless and meaningless.

In a way, that's ... ( 1 week ago by 10thdim)
In a way, that's true, and this was what Gevin Giorbran explained so well with his website and book "Everything Forever". The enfolded symmetry state that's "before" the big bang and "after" the end of the universe is the same thing, a place where everything finds the perfect natural balance. That's the tenth dimension in this visualization. The "0" we start from, then, because it's a point of indeterminate size, can also be that enfolded state that's within the ten, but it can also...
...occupy any other ... ( 1 week ago by 10thdim)
...occupy any other position within the system. But you're absolutely right about that perfectly balanced "zero" that the tenth dimension adds up to in this way of visualizing the dimensions, and there is a certain satisfying "circular whole" to thinking about how the zero is full, not empty, as Gevin liked to say.

Rob

so basically seventh dimension is several points (infinity) on a line, but since we can't connect the points between infinity as we could from 3rd to 4th dimension, is this the right idea? can you please describe the event simulation of eighth and nineth dimension? what i mean is for example, we could travel to a completely different possibility of ourselves via the sixth dimension....
...what could we do ... ( 1 week ago by skywalkerluk)
...what could we do traveling through the line and split of one infinity to another, and what is it like to travel through the 'fold' of one infinity to another? sorry for such a long post=( really wanna make it easier for myself to visualize...i'm ok up 'till sixth looking at the video
Yes, it does get ... ( 1 week ago by 10thdim)
Yes, it does get trickier to visualize as we move up through the dimensions. Starting from the top down is another way to think of it - the tenth dimension is the unobserved, enfolded symmetry state that is "before" the big bang and "after" the end of the universe, the ninth dimension is information patterns, the 8th is universes/expressions of matter that oscillate/change their fine structure constants over time, and points in the seventh dimension contain the entire wave function for universes
like ours whose ... ( 1 week ago by 10thdim)
like ours whose basic physical laws don't change as we move through the bush-like branching structure of possible futures (and pasts) for our unique universe. You might enjoy my vlogs "Why Do We Need More Than 3 Dimensions" or "What Would a Linelander Really See" or "Wormholes" for further explorations of these ideas.
