Well good for you Loldicks. You've won me over with your reasoning. He must be good if Stevie thought so. I best stop having my own opinions and use everyone else's.
Healey was a skilled guitar player, I don't deny that.But his music just doesn'y move me in any way.The fact that he is blind is irrelevant.There are better blind muscians around Ray Charles,Stevie Wonder for instance.Evelyn Glennie is amazing. She plays up to 60 instruments in her live performances and she's profoundly deaf.

ONe thing I cant stand is "absolutists" i.e. people who have to bag out others abilities simply because they may not be in the top echelon of performing artists on the planet. Jeff may not be as good as Albert Collins, who cares? It's a lot easier to learn when you can see. Jeff is blind and is a great player. Give the man a break.

Well if his music doesn't move you then move on.Accept that it doesn't suit your taste but dont try to justify it by attacking the musician.Comparing piano players to guitar players is irrelevant as a keyboard is much easier to negotiate than a fretboard with your eyes closed.By your own admission you are one of many "you tube antagonists",deliberately posting comments to get a rise out of "thick"? people, an attention seeker.

Why would I have one of his albums if I dont like his music, thats plain stupid. My father liked Healy quite a lot so I have heard plenty. I have explained why I dont like his music. And I'm not getting drawn into a personal slagging match. So lets leave it a that.

I've played guitar for 30 years and it easy enough to play with your eyes closed. Don't honestly think it would be any different on piano with plenty of practice. The fact he is blind is irrelevant. My point is that people give him more credence because he is, and they shouldn't.

Yes, i'm sure it is easy when you know how, the point i'm making is it's much harder to LEARN if one is visually impaired. Blind people struggle with the everyday basics of life, let alone mastering a musical instrument. At the end of the day, if any musician's work pleases people, they'll always regard them with some sort of reverence, regardless what their talent may be compared to the very best, and people recognize Jeff's accomplishments are that bit special because of his blindness.

I can only imagine how he could play if he held the guitar the proper way, comparing guitar players of this magnitude is apples and oranges, comparing them to keyboard and piano players, isnt much of a comparison in my oppinion, pardon my spelling as I am intoxicated!

I can agree with this. Saying that a blind person being this amazing at the guitar is a greater achievement than someone with vision doing the same is like saying that a dog playing a chord on the piano makes him better than Beethoven because the former is so much more difficult.

You'd never be able to tell by Jeff's enthusiasm but if you look at his left leg you will see that there is a bandage underneath his jeans just above the knee. This was right after his first operation to remove a growth in his leg. It never stopped him from playing great.I would hope that in time people will realize that there was a hell of a lot more to Jeff Healey musically than just a bluesman. That's why all the greats would knock on his dressing room door.
