Muay Boran's not practiced as much today because it was developed for fighting in wars and meant to kill :/ What's in that video shows how brutal it can be, so the art's been reduced to Muay Thai so it is practicable as a sport. I'm Thai myself, and I would stay the **** away from a fight if the other guy's a Muay Thai fighter xD

because Muay Thai is not even close to being the same as UFC. They are two totally different sports. I have fought professionally in Thailand, but I will not say that I am necessarily ready to step into a MMA fight.

my martial art is muay thai and i've been doing it for ~5 years now. but i must say boxing is NOT included in standard muay thai.. or you've never been trained in pro boxing. yes, the basics of boxing like jabs, crosses and hooks are of course basic in muay thai too, but beyond that pure boxing is a whole optimized and equally lethal art form by itself.

of course a professional boxer would kick the average guys ass. but put boxer and muay in a cage and muay dominates.
its just deadly and contains so much more possibilities of how to knock out ur enemy or damage him. kicks of all variations and partly executed with such speed no boxer would block them, thats what they lack.
