if you are judging it by how fast the venom works, then yes, you are correct. if you are judging it by the amount of venom it takes to kill a person, then that award would go to the boomslang, with the most concentrated venom on the planet. it is not agressive though, and rarely bites

the taipan cannot move 12 mph or reach a limb 6 feet off the ground, so the black mamba moves into #1 as the most "dangerous" snake, it puts out 200 to 300 mg of toxin everytime it strikes and it doesnt stop after the first. All I know is that I would much rather be around a Taipan or a Brown Snake, then a Black Mamba, they are fast as hell, nasty, and their venom is not only EXTREMELY toxic, but they are more likely to bite. Brush a tree with them in it and they will bite. They are probably one of the most aggressive venomous snakes, which probably makes them most dangerous in the world Yet people own them! I think they are beautiful snakes, but if I ever saw one...I'd run.

Its just that the inland taipan aint that agresive, as that explains also the number of kills. But the venomous of the Inland Taipan is much more deadly.

If i recall correctly it is not the most venomous snake in the world (some sea snakes are crazy venomous)and the tiapan. But it is right up there at the top of the list for the most fatalities, due mainly to the fact that it lives in primative areas where there are lots of people living in huts and if you dont get out of its way it will chase you. It can move at 10/11 mph and at 14 feet long could bite an average sized man in the face. By far one of the most aggresive snakes in the world.
