Yeah you give a two bit hustler 4 years because he had 40$ worth of rock under his tongue (couple other misdemeanors like weed possesion before) doesn't help either. What are the chances that after he gets "out" of jail on bail, he'll return to court!! actually there are things such as heroin alternatives (methadone is one), which are available through a prescription, and have to be taken in the presence of the pharmacist who gives them.
i disagree with you on the legalisation of weed. it's a narcotic, and it has been shown conclusively to have some nasty side-effects after long-term use. just because you like something doesn't mean it should be legal.
legalising it would be pretty counter-productive for the human race.

am22reno the jails are own by private corporations.and the corporations got most of the politicians on the payroll.The corporations
make greater profits when more people are locked up in the private prisons cause they get very cheap labor and also the corporations also profit from the stocks of the prisons that they sale.the more people you lock up,the more cheap labor they get and the more the stocks are worth.
