Video Description:
The Tell-Tale Heart is a wonderful animated short film of 1953 based on Edgar Allan Poe short-story. The story told by a mad man has a dark visual with a perfect work of narration by James Mason. It is a UPA Production and was the first cartoon to be X-rated (adults only) in Great Britain under the British Board of Film Censors classification system. Really great - you have to see it.

Ahhh... the sick twisted mind of Edgar Allan Poe. The best horror writer of all times. This story made my heart beat and my pulse pound. I love it. Another favorite of mine is the Masque of the Red Death. And I think this story makes a point. Are we all truly mad yet we all think that we're all sane? I think so. Reality is always controlled by the people who are most insane.

I think the X-rating was to convey that, though animated, was not intended for children - like "Animal Farm" (1954).

he animation style of this one is so not american. it looks more like Russian or European animation.
