This is an excellent lesson to "always" think for yourself, no matter what. I saw a woman screaming at her 4-year-old? in a parking lot. Everybody just stood there like idiots. I was the only person there who went right up and talked to her, and calmed her down. I was disgusted with that crowd. This has happened frequently in my life. U gotta live up to "your" standards, or U won't be able to live with yourself.

I dont mean to step on your toes or anything, but thats often not how it works. I find myself watching these clips and thinking "man i need to be independent", but in reality i know i'd probably fit into that 80% of people who ignored. Its hard to not conform in these situations. When unexpected things happen, humans (which are very, very social creatures) look for unity to help; power in numbers. and when numbers fail, we freeze up in confusion. Its a pity I guess, but its unavoidable sadly.

What's even worse than not acting because no one else does, is not acting because we are told that no one else will.. that is, assuming that no one else will act from the get go. I'm speaking here of our democracy in the States, were we vote for "least worst" every election day, because we are told no one is going to vote for the really good guy (e.g. Ralph Nader).
