Life in the Universe (#1): Just on Earth, or Everywhere?

Uploaded by: tdarnell
Video Description:
This is the first episode of a series on life in the universe. Looking for life in the universe isn't like looking for your car keys. It's hard to know where to even start. The best place to start is probably by NOT trying to find alien civilizations, but rather ANY kind of life we can.
The problem is, civilizations live and die in the blink of an eye compared to the lifecycles stars. They could come and go and we'd never know it.

Religion may be a ... ( 6 days ago by PlanetMan77)
Religion may be a hoax or a manufactured way of controlling the masses, but that doesn't mean God is.
In some way or another, including in a way completely explainable by science, God could easily exist. Proof either way? Who knows. Where's the proof time is quantifiable? The concept of proof or rules themselves.... it really doesn't matter. Scientific discoveries can disprove every single story from the Bible, the Quiran, etc, but they can't disprove the concept of God.
Though science ... ( 6 days ago by JakeTheRipper2)
Though science can't disprove the concept of God, the existance of all matter had to come from somewhere. Just because God is a possible answer to that does not mean matter is proof of it.
I suggest watching videos from "TheAmazingAthiest." He makes very valid points.

Hmm, the only was to disprove God is to dismiss philosphy from the minds of man. For such an abstract concept cannot be proven or disproven. While you might look at the the literary works about god and see an incomplete discription and in fact i would concure on the point. So is science incomplete in its discription of the Universe.

If people want to believe in God, let them and don't hate. I personally don't believe in religion but I know that religious people are good people, I don't hate them. I have many christian friends and they don't hate me for not being a believer.
The only problem i have is when people fight
over their religous beliefs and cause War or shit like that.

"What would a person from 10,000 years past make of our civilisation today"
The earth is only 7000 years old. That makes a 10,000 year old person impossible.

yea, iknow what you mean. god is a spirit though and he claimed us and guided us. but, that doesnt mean theres no life else where in space. space goes on 4ever and never stops. it says no where in the bible that theres not life anywhere lese and if people dont believe it there retarted becuase its all the science of nature

I believe that the universe is certainly a product of intelligent design. It's simply to complex and vast to have been created by mere chance. I also believe it's kind of naive to think that we are the the only palce in the entire universe that harbors life. While I consider myself a man of God and I believe in a divine creator, I do think that religion is tainted by humanity.

On Earth life can be found anywhere,in the worst conditions, the bottom of the oceans, volcanic ashes, and also deep in the ice was found bacteriaso basically on any environment on Earth! But why there was not even a microbe or a bacteria found on Mars(except the chocolate bar) or the moon or anywhere on the other planets or the outer space that were seeking for the last 40-50 years. If life was an hazard it should be anywhere, but it was created and it is anywhere but as you see-only on Eart

god? yes...but what was before god? where did god come from, i mean he had to be created once, there has to be some kind of starting point. Who created god?
Well we can go like this forever. These problems are just too much for our minds to imagine...we are too stupid and undeveloped to even come close to finding the truth, and we probably never will find the truth. Even if we do by any chance, how will we know thats its really true?

The universe is ... ( 4 days ago by rudley0innapropriate)
The universe is outward expanding, traversing to any other planet that has life will soon be unfathomable. It would take millions of our lifetimes to reach the closest galaxy to our own. I for one am content not knowing the truth about god or other life. If the truth was known it would be the end of wonder and we would live pointless lives.

I think our lives have no meaning when we can in a split second travel where ever we want in Universe and have been to all solar systems in the whole universe. in our galexy its over 5 billion solar systems all stars have the chance to be a solar system
there will be no more to explore and we littary now every thing there is to know. based on how many galexys even the hubble scope have seen that will take billion of years. if we want our spieces to survive that long its up to all humans.
