He's wrong on one point. Tolerance vs Terrorism is not the conflict of our age.
The deciding factor of whether we will survive the transition from type zero to type one will be the struggle between exploitation and cooperation.
If we follow his favored trend of the USA becoming the model for Earth's society, then it means we'll keep our system of exploitation (euphemistically termed capitalism).
This is not a stable system, and it cannot survive the nuclear age.

I agree, but I think he is only stating that our one world custom is that of the USA. For better or worse, we won (the USA.) I mean, we won the Cold War. USSR is gone, Ho Chi Minh, and Mao are dead. Vietnam, Estonia, China, and India want to live like people in the USA. Problem? Because of their regimes, we've held a virtual monopoly on food and energy, but now that they want their share of the pie, it's thrown things out of "balance" hence the petrol supply hiking up prices worldwide.

We are making a transition from 0 to 1. we are learning how to make permanent gigantic cities in the ocean, and how to make nature work for us. Yes there is energy everywhere but there could be a time when energy demands are greater then what our planet can provide. Stars relise massive amounts of energy and harnessing this energy will allow us to do so much more.

He must have an awkward time talking with classical physicist. He sounds like a quacky treki, not a scientist. His research on string theory is really fascinating and a worth while cause. I think he over simplifies his vision of the world economies without giving respect to the social aspects of human life. Pop culture seems to bring people together yet objectifies human existence.

Actual Satanism is about free thought and self-advancement, which is what Michio Kaku is talking about. Bush and his cronies are fundamentalists; they preach blind faith and servitude. I disagree with your opinion of what Satanism is. Satanism is a negative belief system that thrives on control, deceit, suffering and all that is contrary to free thought and self-advancement. Satanism also perceives Satan/The Devil as it's god. How did you form your ideas?

Religion requires accepting ideas and propositions without evidence. This can't survive in the market of free ideas because it will not produce results. Real results are driven by science, and science has seen the dominance of the West and the Far East over the world. I'm sorry to break it to religious people but for religion, the end is quite near. It will 'survive', limping along causing death, havoc, and court battles, but that's only proof it is in a fight for its existence.

You're right about Satanism. But it is in no way what Dr. Kaku is talking about. Sure, Satanists claim to be followers of logic, reason, philosophy.. but my understanding of Satanism (one belief in particular) also says it endorses and encourages suffering to those you consider enemies. Correct me if I'm wrong, but nothing concerning pain and suffering to others is an ideal path towards "self-advancement". ya dig??
