Because it's not all about the money, jute. When the bills come, all you can think about is the money and how you don't have enough, but there are things in life that are definitely worth it. Understand that money is survival, not happiness.

You do it for the honor, duty and the right to say I have been there, done that! The pay, if that is all you think of then do not even try it. Cause you will only be disappointed. But if you do go for it, get tabbed, you can never have that taken from you your whole life. You will be one of us then.

if you had asthma after 13 you cant be in the military, they will give you a breathing test at MEPs

I never got a breathing test when I went to MEPS. If it's not major and you really want to enlist, lie about it, if you feel you'll be fine. But if your asthma is bad, sadly, you'll have to just forget joining the military.
