Video Description:
This is the in-studio produced gag reel for the wrap of the original Battlestar Galactica in 1979. See miffed takes, backstage shenanigans, and off-the-cuff profanity (bleeped of course).
But beware, this is BOOTLEG in every sense of the word, meaning that this is a copy of a copy of a copy which I bought at a sci fi convention about ten years ago. The quality will vary (and a lot of the clips used were black and white in the first place). But this is the official BATTLESTAR.

Everyone likes to rag on the original BSG as "cheesy," "poorly-executed," among other things. What they never say is HOW the original BSG fits those descriptors they throw at it with very little thought involved? I'm a fan of the original BSG and I've never seen anything cheesy or "wrong" about it.

In my view, the original Battlestar Galactica was kind of ahead of its time. If it had a second season, they could have the chance to add depth to the charactors. Ashame that didn't happen. The re-imagined Battlestar Galactica is a well done show. It has got to do things the original never got the chance to do.

I stand corrected. I mistyped Cobalt. I thought it was Cobol. I'd never seen it written. Either way, I was wrong.
Besides, a show that uses microns (an Earth distance measurement (1/10 of a millimeter)) as a measurement of time (on the Galactica ~1 second) and names characters after Greek Gods, etc. why would you think it's strange they named it Cobol (or Cobalt for that matter).

This show was on when I was really little, so I grew up watching it in syndication. It was about the most boring time I spent in front of the TV. Better effects than the original Star Trek obviously, but there was that whole 70s style that I couldn't stand about it. Disco in space? [excuse me while I hurl]
