One day in 1955, a neighbor gave The Premiers, the former name of the Teenagers, several love letters that had been written to him by his girlfriend, with the hopes that he could give the boys inspiration to write their own songs. Merchant and Santiago adapted one of the letters into a song called "Why Do Birds Sing So Gay?" With Lymon's input, the song became "Why Do Fools Fall in Love"

That movie was bullshit! It really didn't tell you anything about Frankie's career, all it was about was his greedy wives wanting a share of his estate. I thought the movie was an insult to him and anyone who ever was a fan of the man and his music because it painted him in such a negative light. If you knew nothing about him you would think what you saw on screen was the real story of his life, but it wasn't.

well actually it kinda was...
the movie was a story of an artist victimized by the record business.a musician destroyed by drugs an a man whos relationships with women was nothing like the charming fantasy he implied on-stage.
it wuz about how hes success brought around his failure!which wuz the conclusion to his life story!hes career wuz basically over when he wuz 18..and he passed away at 25!
so the movie migt have not brought out the postive...but it was what pretty much happened!
