yes, always use powder to set cream/stick/liquid foundation. Any transluscent ot Blot powders works great.

not sure by oil issues - is it your skin that is oily and affecting the products? If thats the case then you will need a Skin primer first, then your foundation then the MSF. Try that instead of getting another powder.

Thanks Enkore!
I actually did try the select sheer pressed powder the other day and my issues have been resolved. One of the MAs at the MAC counter said that some people have had that happen with the MSF and SSF. Strange, but now I'm a happy camper :-)

I super love your tutorials. I'm living in a tropical country, its humid not to mention i have an oily skin and have lots of open shouting pores... is mineralized satinfinish powder is okay to use? hows the coverage? i want coverage but with "no-make-up" look appearance. Im currently using Studio fix powder, however it settles into my pores and its cakey at the end of the day. I use the buffer brush, u think it'll make a difference if i use the 190 brush?

Hi Koren, thank you sooooo much for your informative videos. I learned a lot from them. You are really good at what you do! I am looking for a foundation for myself and need advice. I usually use the Select Tint moisturizer and would like a foundation that gives just a little more coverage yet a natural look. My T-zone can get oily sometimes. What foundation should I get? Studio Fix liquid, Mineralized SatinFinish, Hypereal, or something else? By the way, what is a "dewy" look? Thanks!!
Moistureblend is ... ( 2 months ago by EnKoreMakeup)
Moistureblend is infused with 2 different kinds of moisturizers, so its a bit more emolient to apply and ideal for those with dry skin. Studio Tech is a little bit more firm, much like the consistency of stick makeup and will give you more coverage than moisturblend.
sounds like you ... ( 2 months ago by EnKoreMakeup)
sounds like you will need to use a face primer prior to any foundation you choose. The primer will coat and cover your pores so that the foundation doesnt sink and settle into them. For foundation, mineralized makeup by nature is water resistant. So definitely ideal for hot humid weather. I like using the 190 on Fix Powder more so than a buffer brush.
if you want just a ... ( 2 months ago by EnKoreMakeup)
if you want just a little more coverage than a TINT, then definitely go for the Satin Finish. Fix Fluid and HyperReal gives more coverage and can feel cakey if youre not used to heavier foundations.

i think 187 doesnt really grab stick foundation that much and also harder to blend. i use it for liquids n powders ;)

definitely check out Mineralized Satin Finish if you like liquids, or Studio Tech if you like creams. It is best to get a proper swatch to that the MA can match your tone.

Studio Stick - its the most camera friendly, heat and humidity friendly, and its buildable.

Can't the Select tint & Studio Tech foundation give a dewy look too? Also on Youtube, someone uses their 109 brush for foundation instead give an aribrushed looked (said to blend well)..any thoughts?

Hi enkore! thanks for the video, it helped me a lot! I have studio fix powder foundation, if I use MAC 190 or foundation brush to apply it to my face would I get better coverage then just using a normal powder brush?
Hi koren, would you ... ( 6 days ago by glamaryz)
Hi koren, would you recommend studio fix fluid for normal to dry skin?.. i run out from my mineralize satin finish and i want to try ssf or hyper real... than you!! :)
not as much as ... ( 4 days ago by EnKoreMakeup)
not as much as Hyper real would. You can add a little strobe cream to tint and tech, and it will give it a dewey finish. I love using 109 on cream foundations, it does give it a nice flawless finish, much like 187 with liquids.
you can either ... ( 4 days ago by EnKoreMakeup)
you can either conceal it using Studio Finish, then you can pretty much use any foundation after that. If you dont like to conceal, Studio Tech gives the most coverage. There is also Studio Full Coverage, but its really thick and can be cakey.
if you like a matte ... ( 4 days ago by EnKoreMakeup)
if you like a matte finish, then SFF is great. Just make sure you moisturize at least 15 mins prior to applying if you have dry skin.
