PrimalLight2323: Pantera ain't thrashers (in few songs they did, anyway they played groove metal).

"in few songs they did" That's exactly my point... Groove metal is a derivation of Thrash. Pantera implemented Thrash techniques in some of their songs. Their Thrash influence was pretty fuckin' noticeable.

yeah, i agree. anyway, the only album I like, it's Cowboys From Hell, which was the thrashiest one (nearest to thrash). but well, it's an excellent idea to include Anthrax's Metal Thrashing Mad. Neil's voice was so awesome. ...anyway, long live thrashers!!!

That riff from "Thrash 'til Death" from Destruction made my penis bleed from erection. Great compilation, it deserves 5 stars. I expect the first compilation to be as great as this one.

Sorry, mate, but 'fast' does NOT mean 'heavy' and you seem to think so. Harvie by Metallica, Iron Man by Sabbaths (even if its not thrash, its a good example), Seasons by Slayer, Left To Die by Death (I dont consider them as death metal band, but as greatest influence for such bands) - that's heavy, making your head going down and rise, to fall again under weight of music (which people call headbanging). You've caugth the thing on Ride The Lightning in first video and Jesus Saves in this one.
You should really ...( 1 month ago by PrimalLight2323)
You should really listen to more Thrash... Bands like Destruction, Toxik Holocaust, and Testament implement speed when writing their riffs, and it has an overall HEAVIER effect. Slow but upbeat chugging riffs, and double-time quickened fast riffs are what ultimately define Thrash, regardless of whether or not you'd like to agree.
Youre right about ...( 1 month ago by steelin666)
Youre right about what define thrash, but that doesn't mean fast riffs are heavy. That's why HEAVY metal isn't as fast as thrash - because heaviness is priority there. Fast riffs can be killer, sharp, rapid, destroyers, but mostly they are not heavy.
That's entirely ...( 1 month ago by PrimalLight2323)
That's entirely subject to interpretation and opinion. To someone like myself, heavy metal riffs aren't nearly as heavy as a well-written Thrash riff. Megadeth's Black Friday is my all-time favorite song, and it has what I consider to be one of the heaviest riffs in metal history. But like I've already said, it's all dependent on a person's personal opinion.
The riff, you are ...( 1 month ago by steelin666)
The riff, you are talking about is 3x1/4 and then 6x1/24, and tempo also isnt very high, so it isn't a encyclopedic example of fast riff. It isnt slow though, so it may be considered as fast riff, which is also heavy one. When we've got 16x1/16, it's hardly a heavy riff. But I agree, that it depends from personal taste and the line isnt clear. But if video is called "Heaviest Thrash Riffs", there shouldn't be any doubts, that they are heavy indeed. And I have big ones. Peace to you, mate.

Ahh, now I see where you're coming from. Black Friday's tempo is roughly around 88BPM (176). But many thrash songs from bands like Violator, Possessed, and Exhumer display much faster beats that often sound rushed, or hurried, as opposed to fast, heavy and intense. Glad we cleared that up. Great chattin' with ya =)
