They play on custom mouthpieces. Thats how they get the sounds that come through as their own. Monet probably is included as well as Edwards, but mostly from mouthpiece makers you have never heard of.

Not all piccolo trumpets come with 4 valves but most do and are generally Bb/A trumpets, but they make all types, in G and F and with three or four valves, pretty much whatever you can think of
