itsuart - In answer to your question...yes! Our right to make our own laws is gradually being transferred to the European State. Our so called elected leaders are now nothing more than Senators for each state. European laws override national laws. Not in every field mind, but it's going that way! Sovereignty is the exclusive right to control a government, a country, a people, or oneself. So yes - we are slowly losing our sovereignty you fool!

Bush is a scoundrel but Dobbs has distorted this way out of proportion. There is no support from any member of Congress, or any governor, or pretty much anyone for a merging of the three countries. Nothing big can happen without political support.
The agreement has to do with reducing regulations on corporations operating across the borders of the 3 countries. That sucks, but it isn't a "North American Union." Exaggeration & distortion only undermines our efforts to fight the REAL bullshit.

What you are saying is true from one perspective, choosing to ignore a whole lot of things, like the fact that every EU nation does have the right to say plain NO to anything the EU sets down as law and that any country can at any time leave the EU.
Anyhow, you´re right that it´s becoming more and more like the USA but I see that as a good thing. Together we stand, divided we fall. Remember, no war in Europe since the craetion of the EU, unlike the past 500 years before that.

I live in the EU and I love the EU.
America, Mexico and Canada should unite.
Then in the future we should all unite Europe and North America. Thats how we can keep ahead of the game. Ahead of China, India and Africa (if they ever get their head out of their ass) ((not racist)).
Unions like the USA, unions like NATO and EU are the way forward. We need to stand together. Help each other and have freedom to travel and work where we like.

Get fucking real. That kind of political entity would ungovernable. A world government? Do you even know what's implicated in the political process? In governing a country? That would be impossible to manage because of diverging interests, constant inner political struggle, constant bickering, etc. The UN is a prime example of it.
