Hey, I'm still pretty lame at this, but i know how to format my hard drive. I got a new motherboard and CPU and I'm just wondering, does anyone know if it's possible to only format and re-install windows components, without completely wiping everything else on the drive? Any input would be appreciated, thanks :)

I like this guys screens it looks like you know alot about computers i built mine a year ago and its going alright but i still have problems but im gonna format my drive and reinstall all drivers and hardware and all that stuff so everything runs perfectly so i have no more problems

You can change the MyDocuments location on XP also. Go to My Computer, go up 1 level so your at "Desktop" then right click "my documents" and the first tab is "target". Also, JKDefrag is freeware that defrags as a screensaver.

yeh.. never formatted the c:\ had this xp for over 6 years :P been thru a couple viruses, but we're all fine here :)
