Wow. I once heard someone describe Rod Stewart as a good singer in general, but a great singer of great songs. Well, here's the proof. He takes perhaps McCartney's best effort and makes it magic.

I agree Mccartney's original studio version is definitely the best version of the song. There was that live version that became a single and popular a few years after it's release, but I always thought the studio version was way better. I like Rod Stewart, but Paul is one of the 10 greatest singers of all time imo and maybe i'm amazed was one of the very best of his efforts.

The Faces were one of the great rock bands from the early 70's or any other era for that matter. It's a pity Rod blew them up for the sake of super stardom.
