Fist of all, argyle, Tax Cuts equals unemployment. If you reduce the NHS budget by, say, £10 billion, you will put people on the dole. In the Thatcher years of tax cuts, it was difficult for the ordinary person to find work. I know one guy from Portsmouth who looked for work for two years, and couldn't find a job. If you create a generation that has to "duck and dive" to get by, sure the benefit system will become a way of life, and in later years it will be difficult for them to change.

I did see an interview with Labour MP Liam Byrne, who appears to be a man who speaks up for the British worker. Maybe he's a man Labour MPs should consider as a new leader and could get them back on track!

Well, mbb05jb, people in employment help booster the economy. I don't how old you are, but I've lived through Tory Tax cuts, and all it does is create high unemployment, thus a downturn in the economy. But this idiot Brown, who is incapable of negotiating a deal, whereas, if Labour believed 15,000 Pols would come here to work, didn't think about doing a deal that capped it at that figure, shows he's politically way, way, way out of his depth, and Labour's gonna be slaughtered at Crew!

Untrue. Thatcher increased taxes in her first budget, and unemployment continued then to rise. Only when she was able to cut them in later parliaments did unemployment fall, and fall it continued to do.

you muppet. Yes alot of British soldiers have now left Iraq and there are fewer there than there used to be. But that was the idea. Neither our troops nor yours were meant to be there permanently. The idea was to train the Iraqi army to be able to handle the areas themselves. In the British segments that has been achieved and other than advisers etc remaining there is no need to ahve our lads there. Just cos yours lads are too gun-ho to do the passifying work, can't blame that on our troops
