You´re totally right Oropher! I´m loving rock/pop/jazz-music allover the last decades. My intention to reply Julians comment, was only to make a difference beetween "succesful" and "great". Most people say a band was sucessful, because of many No.1 in the charts for weeks, months! That´s also right for some of them, but every decade has great bands/singer like "Nick Cave & the bad seeds" a.m.o. They don´t have sucess of most sold records, blablabla - but "great"artists That´s all! Peace!

The Animals were the top band in 66. In 67 the doors took over as something that can't be matched even to this day. Still the Animals were great. If you do anything in your life go see Jim's grave in Paris. Jim died in the restroom stall at the Rock in Roll Circus on a herion overdose, due to the fucked up Miamy charches and Pams habit that he had so much pressure that he went to far. We love you Jim, and the Doors Music will live on forever.
Over thirty years ... ( 1 day ago by zitlight73)
Over thirty years after he died he was threatened with eviction from his grave because there was too much partying going on. The Lizard King had to have a good laugh over that one. I don't think the Animals get the recognition they deserve. Eric Burden helped boost Jimi Hendrix's career over in England.
