At least we dont have school shootouts. And as a profesional student, thats all that matters.
Tijuana is a mess, but that doesnt mean you can't have a good time. If you are looking for trouble, you will get it; if you are coming for fun, you will have a great time.
Try some other places besides Avenida Revolucion, you will learn nothing there.
If you are coming for the first time, get a guide and you will be fine.

tijuana is one of the most dangerous places inculding other cities. mexico needs to fix their government(if i can even call it that) i know in ALL govermnets there is corruption but mexico makes it out on one of the top. we mexicans need to stop defending the corruption that is clearly seen. the authority there is horrible and we all know most are bribed to defend crime.

to cynismo: no shoot outs at schools? what about all the crime that happens around the schools and the whole city. why would they need shootouts in schools when people find 12 dead bodies today mutilated near a SCHOOL. I know its not only tj with murders but tj alone has had around 380+ dead Tijuana this year alone.

tourists have also fallen victim to homocides as well, dont tell me its only the narcotraficos. the thing is many tourists do not know the city which fall victim. even the innocent people of tj themselves fall victim to these crimes. it dosent matter if your walking around tj at 1pm or 3 am your city should be safe and kept under control.

Im from TJ and the only thing I have to say is that I LOVE here
yeah, its dangerous like any city, but it's not that bad
I love the people in here, my school, and if you say we're ignorants, you have no idea what you're talking about
If you what to eat good mexican food, go to La Espadaña.
If you want to have fun DO NOT go to la revolucion.

I am from Detroit & have been to Tijuana many times. I have walked the streets of both cities in the day & in the night. I have never had any problems in either but to be honest I felt safer in TJ at night. If you are not looking for trouble then you probably won't find it but if you are than there are many places in both cities to find trouble enough for anyone. I loved the cultural feel of TJ when I was there. I would stay at a hotel far from Ave. Revolucion so I could experience real Mexico
