FREE REBEL DIAZ!!!

Video Description:
Early this Wednesday (6/18/08) Rodstarz and G1 of the group REBEL DIAZ were up in Bronx on Southern Blvd in Hunts Point, when they noticed the police were harassing a street vendor who was selling fruit. The two went over to witness the cops in action and when they saw the police being abusive they pulled out a cell phone to video tape the incident and asked for the officers badge numbers. Subsequently they were beaten, detained and taken to 41st Precint in the Bronx under the direction of Captain McHugh.
Rodstarz and G1 will be going to criminal court Thursday (6/19/08) and are being charged with obstruction of justice and assault.

215 East 161st. Street Between Sheridan & Sherman Ave, East of the Grand Concourse. Take the 4, B, D to 161st Street Yankee Stadium Station.

When people stop exorcising their rights, stand up and question authority, remain vigilant against gov't abuse, and think for themselves and refuse intellectual laziness, then a democracy ceases to be a democracy and it becomes fascism. If in fact these pro_Police State posts are in fact real people, and not police themselves, then I fear America is not far away from totalitarianism. It Can't Happen Here? It already is.

The police are always right. Understand people, you have NO RIGHT to ever question a police officer. The police must throw people in jail for asking questions to maintain our freedom, our freedom not to ask questions, or demand any sort of standards or restraint from law enforcement.

I suppose throwing them on the ground and hitting them, and throwing them in jail didn't go far enough. They were lucky the police didn't shoot them, after all the police must keep the community safe, and asking questions to law enforcement, or expecting them to use restraint is a danger to the "community".

This video is extremely misleading because it only shows the police responding to Rebel Diaz and didn't show what the rappers did to instigate the confrontation. Since this video was clearly made by those sympathetic to Rebel Diaz, I can only assume that what they are not showing (the initial confrontation) doesn't make Rebel Diaz look so innocent. And by the way, no one is saying that no police officers are ever in the wrong, I'm just saying that in this case they were probably right.

Based on what exactly? I know Rebel Diaz, I don't know these cops. I don't believe for a second they would "instigate" or "stage" anything. I don't know these cops. People have a right to stand up for people in their community, where they live, being harassed by outsider. You assume it's misleading, but why? Why assume ill-doing on Rebel Diaz, when witnesses corroborate their story that the police are at fault? I don't think this video is misleading, it shows events as they happened.

Well, firstly crime is misdirected anger, anger caused by the system itself. People commit crimes when their needs are not met. Thus the contradiction of the prison and law and order system. We wouldnt have to fear our own brothers and live in fear in our own communities if it wasnt for this exploitative system and the abusive 'justice system'. Secondly, even if the cops didnt beat them, they were arrested unjustly.
