This is the whos original version. It was taken from their rock opera "Tommy". Lead actor Elton John. If you look really closely you can just about make out Roger Daltrey stood right next to him on the stage.

This is most certainly not the original version. It's not exactly a cover, since it is part of the Tommy movie, but the acoustic guitar is replaced by piano, and Elton John is singing, so this sounds totally different from the original.

@bigstrat: It IS a fascinating 'cover' in the sense that it isn't the Who playing (apart from some added guitar and drum sounds 2.40 - 3.15), they just 'fingersync' for the camera to the recording by the Elton John band... who do EVERYTHING to sound like the Who ('Can't Explain' riff ending and all). :D I pointed this out in an earlier comment because it's funny (and totally true), but got SO many thumbs down, so I'll be quiet about it from now on... serves me right for spoiling the magic... :p

I just recently started listening to the Who's music, and I'm interested in seeing this movie...is it any good? I've heard a lot of people say they didn't like it and it's strange, or whatever. I do like a lot of the people who are in it too.
