Neighborhood Bully

Uploaded by: Shipless
Video Description:
Ingenuity, creativity, and guts have sustained this People longer than any other identifiable group of people in existence today.
The only thing that may have outdone this is their sensitivity to needs of others.
Although we see and hear the leader of Iran and of the "Palestinian" Authority, this video is not about them, and of course the song doesn't refer to them.
After lengthy research, the amount of material uncovered attesting to the generosity and deep feelings of love for their fellow man, is staggering - much more than could ever be stuffed into 1 video on YouTube.
So here, with the help of Bob Dylan and his Neighborhood Bully, is an attempt to show what cannot even be described as the "tip of the iceberg."
Now, although "Bob Dylan" never admitted to having written this song for this particular "Neighborhood Bully" - he has never refuted it. It is believed by H. Shipless that indeed Mr. Dylan ( AKA Robert Zimmerman - FYI ) - was referring to his own people - ah yes, he too is one of that "Neighborhood."
Who would have thought that such a small country, bound with so many problems of its own would have time to even think about problems of others, let alone actually be permanently organized to specifically be on hand when emergency assistance is needed.
Is there any other country in the world that can show such a "resume'"? The funny thing is (am not sure that is the right word) that they do not ask for anything in return - only respect as human beings - and even that, sad to say, is too much.
Even the numerous countries that this "Bully" has selflessly raced to provide with humanitarian aid in times of chaotic turmoil and strife, fail to speak up in public on Her behalf.
What a strange phenomenon . . .
Russia, Mexico, Ecuador, Turkey, Greece, Chile, Kenya, El Salvador, Sri Lanka, and many others - all recipients of vital emergency assistance from the "Neighborhood Bully" - it must be supposed that they simply wish not to upset the well established myth, born of lies and deceit successfully creating (as was/is the purpose) in the eyes of the world, the image that is known as the "Neighborhood Bully."
Just an after thought in light of what is being said lately of this "Bully." Viewers will notice immediately that Apartheid - runs quite rampant here as any anti-Semite will avow.

I think you should feel grateful you live in a country which allows you to grow up at such distance from absolute evil. But you just take it for granted.
And it doesn't take away responsibility, because one can still accept or reject it. But all too often people accept it.
There are lots of great works of literature about absolute evil. The one that comes to my mind is Melville's "Billy Budd." (cont.)
Billy also doesn't ... ( 1 month ago by Kurtlane)
Billy also doesn't believe in absolute evil. Loved by both sailors and officers, kind, forgiving, cheerful, funny, full of love, he in one moment lunges one punch at his torturer Claggart, a punch so powerful, it kills him. Why? Because he'd just discovered absolute evil.
I was hounded by antisemites in the Soviet Ukraine (where I was born and spent first 16 years of my life) since I was born. We lived right next door to antisemites, and didn't live all that differently form them. (cont.)
It wasn't ... ( 1 month ago by Kurtlane)
It wasn't necessarily envy, it wasn't necessarily scapegoating, it was just absolute hatred for no reason. Even some kids as young as 4 had it.
That non-belief in absolute evil is both a leftist-liberal belief, and, alas, a common Jewish belief. I am trying to do all I can to tell my fellow Jews to stop it and to wake up to reality, because that's one of the true roots of Jew-hatred. (cont.)

Yes, not our alleged (by you, among others) brutality, but our kindness, our forgiveness, our desire to right the wrongs and to do good is the main source of the evil directed at us. Because in addition to absolute evil there is such a thing as the shadow. But it's very hard to convince Jews not to be "Jewish." I am myself a hypocrite in this regard.
BTW, I think the main thing this video says is "Israel is a country, not a conflict. And not a bad country at that."

so 'one of the true roots of jew-hatred' is 'absolute evil'. And what is absolute evil? Jew-hatred. So it is that acts are decontextualised, thus robbed of their sense, making an impenetrable barrier to communion. This can be broken, but not directly challenged. The issue is not an easy one - don't assume others have it better than you, whatever their country - your philosophy, however, ultimately leads to war. People may be easily led - but this does not mean that their first lesson is final...
... I did not ... ( 1 month ago by MadDogOfist)
... I did not allege brutality, I did not name call, I did not criticise Israel and wouldn't waste my time doing so - this video appeared to me as an exercise in denial and this I criticised. It tried to say 'Israel is great, despite...' but those Arabs don't define Israel by this video's standards. they have REASON to be yelling death to Israel, whether we like it or not. I would be interested in watching a video that addressed these reasons without selling one side as good and the other evil

MadDog, sorry, I don't know what "So it is that acts are decontextualised, thus robbed of their sense, making an impenetrable barrier to communion. This can be broken, but not directly challenged. ... etc." means.
To address what I do understand:
1) "'one of the true roots of jew-hatred' is 'absolute evil'. And what is absolute evil? Jew-hatred."
No. Absolutely not. Billy Budd was not Jewish.

(OK, he's a literary hero, but there are plenty of real non-Jewish victims of evil. Take a look at the Rwandan genocide, for example.)
2) "this video appeared to me as an exercise in denial and this I criticised."
I'm telling you for the 3rd time: you misread it. If anything, it would be a denial to associate Israel only with the conflict.

3) "they have ... ( 1 month ago by Kurtlane)
3) "they have REASON to be yelling death to Israel."
And those "reasons" are no more sane or reasonable than Nazis yelling "Jude werreck" ("death to the Jews"). The stuff you say (about Israeli murder of civilians and annexing of Palestine, Hamas merely repeating European Jew-hatred, no animosity before 1948) is nothing more than regurgitation of the "common wisdom" you've swallowed and aren't willing to question.

If someone living in Nazi Germany were to say that Jewish people are just as human as everyone and should have the same rights as everyone, he would not only be quickly silenced, but most people would treat him like a nut case, because their minds would be so filled with Nazi propaganda, which they wouldn't be willing to question. And now minds of most people are to a greater or lesser degree filled with anti-Israel propaganda. And you are no exception.

When I went to Israel in 2001, after I turned on the radio and heard something different from the usual barrage of Israel-hating cud, I felt as if I've just escaped from Nazi Germany.
Very sad.

1) but you see anti-semitism as absolute evil - and I say it can be explained.
2) what jew hating cud? I can only report that here in Britain there is no such thing. We have balanced reporting, by law.
3) Direct translation of antisemite propaganda of the west: forgive me, I listened to the rabbi I was lectured by, and believed the books I read.
4) I AM NOT ANTI ISRAELI. I am anti-blindness, I am anti-propoganda, I am anti deathly thoughts of absolute evil. (cont)
I don't associate ... ( 4 weeks ago by MadDogOfist)
I don't associate Israel with conflict alone, but the video shows two things in the main: Israelis giving aid and Arabs chanting hateful slogans. One does not explain the other. It dehumanises the Arabs into hateful mongrels and presents Israel as saintly. This is not true of either side. Can we at least agree on that - as that is all I want?

Hey Madogfist o crudsucker. Let's look at it this way. What have the AIRABS contributed to modern-day humanity? If you can think of any more than 2 let us know. 1)TERROR 2)irrate managing of an oil industry that was developed for them and put in their lap in the hope it would bring them out of the Dark Ages. Well, that was a no go. Next time you go to the airport remember why you have to be there 2 hours in advance. Then ask if the "left pilangie" has been checked. Limey idiot.

"It dehumanises the Arabs into hateful mongrels and presents Israel as saintly. This is not true of either side. Can we at least agree on that"
Oh no. The video doesn't dehumanize the Arabs anywhere near the level to which they've dehumanized themselves. These are not cartoons of Arabs in the video (like cartoons of Jews in Arab media), this is not Jews playing Arabs (as Arabs play Jews drinking blood of babies on Arab TV), this is actual footage of actual speeches. (cont.)

And I can vouch it's not out of context.
Arab (and Iranian) hate-speeches take only 52 seconds out of a 10-minute video. And yet there you are, complaining that it dehumanises the Arabs. And what about dehumanization of Israelis? Of Jews in general? How many hours of everyday media programming are devoted to it in the Arab world? In Iran? In Malaysia? In England? In America? Everywhere? Have you even bothered to notice it?

Obviously not. You wrote "We [in England] have balanced reporting, by law." Yeah, right. Is that why people call the Guardian "Der Sturmer of the modern left?" And the Independent, and the Beeb, and the rest. Balanced my ass.
I think before you tell others you are anti-blindness, you have to check your own eyes. I'm telling you you're blind as a bat. And a blind man calling others blind just makes a laughing stock of himself.

The German people ... ( 3 weeks ago by Kurtlane)
The German people are not some monsters throughout their history, neither in the distant past nor now. But for a certain period in 1930s-40s they did overwhelmingly become monsters. I'd be a fool not to recognize it, or that the same has happened to Arabs today (and more than just Arabs). I'd be a fool not to recognize the truth when it stares into my eyes. The truth that one side is good, and the other is evil. (cont.)
This is the truth ... ( 3 weeks ago by Kurtlane)
This is the truth that stares in the face of everyone who has the eyes to see, even if it's not polit. correct, and your ideology doesn't allow it.
And you are like that little old lady, who brought a little stick of wood to the fire on which a "heretic" was burned alive. No, you don't drag whole trees to the fire, you only bring a little stick. But you too contribute to the burning of the Jew.
Here's an example ... ( 3 weeks ago by Kurtlane)
Here's an example of modern Arab thinking. I read stuff like that almost every day.
From article "Islamic state? Not yet. Popular support seems thin after more than a year of Hamas rule"
By Terry Milewski, CBC News. September 1, 2008
"In the sandy back alley behind the Hilles stronghold, a 25-year-old woman from the clan listens while a CBC crew conducts interviews about the aftermath of the battle. Someone says that Hamas is firmly in control. (cont.)

(cont. from article)
"'No, Hamas does not control Gaza,' she cuts in. Waving her finger, surrounded by children, she issues a challenge. 'All our young men will be back. The children will grow up and fight for revenge. The most important thing is to take revenge.'"
What an Arab thing to say.
Let me repeat the last phrase, "The most important thing is to take revenge." Who but Arabs could possibly think this way?

Notice that she was in a small crowd of people, and no one said anything. Notice also that she was surrounded by children. She spoke to them too.
To hell with them all, Hamas, Fatah, and the rest. I hope they all exterminate each other. They don't deserve any better.
And yesterday the Arabs urinated on the place in which Torah scrolls were kept in the Cave of the Patriarchs. And.. and... and... and..

I mean, how much shit do you need to have stuffed down your throat to change your high opinion of Arabs? But it's not your throat, it's my throat. So what do you care?
It was your ... ( 1 week ago by MadDogOfist)
It was your intention for someone to travel the same path going the opposite way? That makes as much sense as to say 'I went to St. Ives so my friend in st. Ives would travel to Oxford'. Your intention was not for an equal and opposite reaction - but you've got it. Just look at people spewing hateful shit about the Arabs in response to my assertion that there is blame on both sides. Look at the M48Lives response: Pure low racism. Your video, though it has good intentions, dehumanises arabs.
