camoclayton this is psychedelic rock and probably has some east indian influences in it. it was from the days of the vietnam war.
grace is norwegian not italian as some of us thought years ago. san fransico has lots of italians.
take some east indian or middle eastern sounds and incorporate white hard rocker musicians and singing by a truely gifted white women and you get a great sound.

Great video, thanks for sending this to me. Grace has a great voice, but for me, Janis Joplin not only had the voice, but was the performer who pulled relentlessly on you to emotionally join her when she performed. Her songs let you see through a window into her soul & gave you chills for all of those reasons. Grace's performance is talented, but not soulful, to me. It doesn't detract from the songs powerful and artistic qualities of which there are both. Peace.
