Ustad Rashid Khan is a child prodigy evolved into a musical marvel. The fine balance between his technical virtuosity and artistic creativity has amazed connoisseurs. His deep and richly sonorous voice is remarkable for its tonal quality. It now reverberates across the world.
At the age of eleven Rashid was brought to SRA by his grandfather Ustad Nissar Hussain Khan. Initiated into the world of music and groomed by his Guru, Rashid's finely honed talent found a meaningful direction.
Rashid has a great sense of loyalty and pride in belonging to the Rampur Sahaswan Gharana. But his mind is open and absorbs the best from the other gharanas. Rashid has that rare quality called `Taseer', that incredible ability to touch the souls of his listeners with the purity and simplicity of his music.
