It's so sad and religious people think they have the moral high ground. The religious don't care because this world is just a stepping stone to the next. The head of the Catholic church in Australia recently said he thought global warming was not a consequence of human behavior. What a wicked thing to say and so irresponsible.

It's not fighting it's debate and education. This is a public forum and if people want to advertise a sick idea I have something to say. Its my world too and my children live here. Why should I tolerate viral ideas like god when I know it causes more harm than good. Just because you haven't sat down and really thought about it is in my view no excuse. I LOVE PEOPLE but I hate cults.

Thanks. Very true.
It's certainly clear to me how Christianity today is blocking our moral progress rather than promoting it. When Christians are more prone to end in jail in the USA than non-religious people then any claim of Christianity promoting good moral is a downright lie.
And the USA is also a total disgrace in terms of reducing global warming. Religion has certainly not helped on that either. People don't take sincere responsibility when they rely on imaginary things.

God is real God has done so much for me and it hurts when you say such mean things about the Lord when he has never done anything bad to you all he wants to do is good and i love God :)

ThinkingBetter, you didn't really make any lies clear. However, I do believe I understand what you mean. Matter hasn't always been here, but ENERGY has, whether in the form of matter, light, time, etc. If that's what you're trying to say, then I think I can agree with that. I also agree that there is plenty of proof that natural selection, and in a round-about way, evolution happens. Then again, I've experienced the love of Jesus Christ. Have you experienced evolution? There are all kinds of "religious" people, just like there are all kinds of non-religious people. Even if you narrow it down to "Christians," it's pretty hard to find real believers. If you think it looks bad from outside the faith, it's even worse from the inside. The real Christians I know don't curse and swear and act hardheaded like so many "Christians" here seem to be doing. It's sad, because the loud-mouthed ones are the only ones people hear. I'm sorry you have to deal with them.

88Nond88, When people experience some luck in their life it is because luck is occasionally happening no matter what. Some people don't die even they got cancer. Some people in a lot of money in lotteries. Some people find the love of their life. Some people get the best job imaginable. And some people get hallucinations that they link with God.
The reason a debate like this can exist is that there is no single valid proof of God.

If anything Keivan strengthened my faith...or were you just trying to show how his scientific lecture was twisted into a philosophical discussion? I did notice that.
The Abiogenesis one makes perfect sense, except it needs to be explained further than that to mean much to me. When steel undergoes heat treatment its grains self-replicate and "eat" each other too. Maybe it is possible for "plants" to "evolve;" but emotional, cognizant beings? If you can explain that I'll be impressed.

If you stopped listening to pure religious propaganda and start studying real stuff you could judge what is real and what is not.
Science has no purpose of fooling people. In fact science is about finding the REAL FACTS - nothing else.

i study science all the time doesnt mean i dont think there is a God out there because he is always there you might prove some stuff but there are so many people who felt God with then all the time look at Mother Teresa or pope John Paul 2 and many more they did so much good work because they wanted to and the Lord told them to they were doing God's will and thats what i do i try to do the Lords will yes a make mistakes doesnt stop me from trying to do the best that i can be :)
