how do you know? look at zakk slash bunch of effects with wah or i think zakk has a signature distortion they are fast players too , then you will say no effects? look at his speed skills episode bunch of reverb effects. i'm not letting you to believe me.

all that equalizers do is change the TONE they dont make you sound faster,cleaner or anything if they did theyre would be alot of super shred guitarist out there like dragonforce
(about the EQ im not so savy about wath it dose because i dont really play with it alot , my amp only has mid, treble, and bass on the eq size but im preaty sure that the EQ wont make you sound better but this is wath I think)
