USA took your eye off the ball, Britain had an eye firmly on the ball, WE told YOU that Russia was putting missiled in Cuba, U told Kennedy, he soiled himself and said:
"If I take my (already established) missiles out of Turkey, please don't put new missliles on Cuba.
He wussed out and saved your lives (via British MI6) = A solution.
Thats the story, no bells, whistles, marching bands nor ticker-tape parades, just LIFE.

So what if America is the highlight of WWII and ignore the rest of the allies. THe US was the x-factor for the allies.Can u honestly say Europe would have defeated Germany? Last time I checked,Britain couldnt even protect its own supply line coming in by ship until the US entered the war.Also I found that claim about MI6 and the cuban missile crisis. Well,I found that the only thing MI6 did was give the US a manual on rocketry to identify the rockets on the island. Thanks Britain for the manual!

MegaBrits, u say the US is "inferior as normal" then y is it that a bunch of militia men and the continental army kicked "Superior Britain" back to that piece of shit of land u call home? If Britain was so superior then y is it that Britain is not the world power? I mean, the US has had many blunders, yet America is still standing. The US would have never been able to fight Germany alone, which is how your argument comes accross. It's true the US was a vital part of the war effort, but it was just that, a part. The small bits make the big picture. It's often ignored that the Russians lost around 25million people fighting the Nazi'a back, 75% of the German military was on the Rssian front. If the Russians weren't on our side, then thered have been real way to stop the Nazis advance which could have eventually lead to the US

First u have ur calculations wrong. About 15 mil germans served in WWII, so the fact that u say that 75% of germans fought in the soviet union is wrong. In fact, 3.2 mil germans fought during the invasion of the soviets. Plus anotehr 1.3 mil from toehr axis powers serve. The US was the most important ally in WWII since the US fought in europe. The Soviets on the other hand only fought to defend there country. Now, the soviets do deserve credit , but without the US Europe would have been lost.

Mmm no I'm sorry your wrong. 3.2 million germans invaded the Soviet Union INITIALLY. After Kursk and Stalingrad, when the Soviets were pushing to Berlin it was then they they were fighting 75% of the German divisions. I do agree though, that without the USA, then the Soviets would have overran all of Europe.... and we would be living in a very different world.

My bad..i was worng..its was 5.5 million germans who served in that war. Regardless, if u do the math that only accounts for 36% of german forces fighting the soviets and not the exagerated 75%. Germany was also in africa, middle east, and europe. Germany invasion of the svoiets did hamper germany in other campaigns of WW2, but Germany had more troops scattered around in other countries. By the way, I wanna know where u getting ur facts from?

The missiles he removed from Turkey were obsolete Jupiter-class nuclear warheads that were scheduled for withdrawal in the first place. The "private assurance" deal (which is the one you're referring to) just changed the timeset that the warheads were going to be taken out of turkey by 18 months down to 6 months.
Personally, I would rather lose however many obsolete warheads than have guaranteed nuclear annihilation, which without that settlement was virtually guaranteed.
