the first wave of black metal is generally considered to be between the years 1981-1989. Black metal was not defined as a specific musical style at this time. Most of the bands in the "first wave" played a dark & evil sounding version of thrash,speed metal,& proto-death metal,with lyrics usually dealing with satanism & the occult.

Nice video man, some excelent bands up there. I agree with venomkill666, the true old BlackMetal bands can't be bested by the new stuff, was a great era.
