Yes, but why does Malaysia have to claim that they are Malaysian if they belong to both?
You can't say because Malaysians are similar to Indonesians or because we have the same means that they can claim our folksongs, dances, instruments and other traditions. Because these are all relative. To Westerners for example the Thai culture and Indonesian cultures are similar and that we have same ancestors. Nadya you don't know how hurt many Indonesians are feeling that Malaysia could get away.

We really do not know what has gone in the past cause remember, we malaysians are a new country (50 years old)and I knew you Indonesians really wanted the malay peninsular to be part of Indonesia Raya since b4 we gain our "malaysian identity". Well even then during the migration from the islands at the south of the malayan peninsular, the country called Indonesia did not exist either cause it was under the dutch.
