preserving freedom is up to the people that live in that country, its not up to the imperialist united states to police the world and force freedom through the barrel of a gun because USA doesnt believe they are being treated right. If the states are so bent on policing the world they should go straight to china, but the states does not want to mess with china because they will fight back. Re corporate income taxes, we already have the highest rate in the world. Even the europeans have figured this out and have lowered rates to spur economic growth. Ireland has superb sustained growth and the lowest corporate tax rate of all european countries. And of course, corporations use deductions, etc to lower their tax burden. It's legal and fair.

habs: Since 1997 I've kept track of all the books I've read in an Access database. I'm up to 3,710 as of today. My favorite subject is WWII, so unless you've got a PHD in History, I guarantee I know more about it than you and 99% of the other kids on Youtube.

We're not talking about WW2... Am I right in this? You don't understand the comparison, because NO ONE is saying we're exactly like Nazi Germany, just that people like Jack are starting to see some similarities, which really, cannot be denied. I don't really care how many books you've read to be honest. It simply doesn't matter, they could've all been Curious George books for all I know, and for all I care. You smell of arrogance, so taking anything you say seriously is a hardship.

habs: My comment applies to nazi germany as well as WWII in general. I've read 3 bios of Hitler as well as bios on Himmler, Goering, Goebbels, Ribbontrop. Also, MANY books about the 3rd Reich and the holocaust.
And if you want to say there are some similarities, I can't argue with that. Name one nation on earth that doesn't have SOME similarities to nazi germany...or stalinist russia for that matter.
IMO any similiarities are nominal and Jack's mentioning them for rank political purposes.

I will contribute to the bailout fund if Henry (Hank) Paulson — U.S. Treasury Secretary, former Goldman Sachs CEO, and all-around bald guy ponies up the $200 million in capital gains tax he was exempt from having to pay. It seems Hank made a bundle from 2003 to 2006 and did not have to show Uncle Sam the money. I made around $17,776 during the same period and though I have already paid Uncle Sam, I would cough in a few more bucks if Hank throws up, err in, his $200 million.

senor: You're probably right. In the 19th century we had the Yellow Press and I guess now we've got a plethora of tabloid news programs that either exaggerate hot-button issues for ratings, or are grossly partisan (posing as impartial).
If we have confidence in the average citizen, we must belive he's able to sort through the BS and make the right choices most of the time.
I'm just getting tired of the hyperbole. Calling people "fascists" and "dictators" when the term doesn't really apply.
