GH2 Custom Song: Dream Theater - A Change Of Seasons

Uploaded by: Disgustipated
Video Description:
First off, no, I did not make this song for the game. All I did was burn it and play it and record it so there would be a video of it. If you have questions about how to play the song yourself visit ScoreHero.com
As for the song this was my second time playing it. First I needed to get used to any parts that weren't synched well and look at the star power route. Some of the solos still caught me by surprise though. I cut it off before the end but it was a four star performance for those wondering.

I'd avoid iTunes (use amazon maybe?)... Stuff on iTunes is protected with DRM, so you can't put it on most phones, mp3/4 players, etc without having to crack it (eg. myFairTunes) first - really, its no wonder that people pirate music so much!

I was so high when listening to this a while ago and couldn't believe a band could construct and play a song this long! It was so crazy!

Wouldn't really call Rush, even if some of their early/current stuff borders it. They're the only ones who can approach DT, though, and DT is very influenced by them, especially Mike and JM.

In 1505 a women was hunted and killed by an evil clown. Now that you have read this, that same clown will be sitting next to your bed with a machete and evil, red glowing eyes when you wake up. Unless you post this to 10 other videos in 1 hour of reading it. Hurry up.

I don't get Dream Theater at all, sounds contrived self-indulgent tuneless nothingness to me, best of luck with it!

Agreed. Rush were far classier and there was at least an identifiable tune. Saw Rush live when Caress of Steel was the new album. 2112, what an album that was.

dude... there is more musicality in Dream Theater than anything else... they have changes in tempo and time signature... just because it doesn't follow the same time signature the whole way, does not mean that is bad.
"elchinolee": I ... ( 1 week ago by HighwayStarSpeedKing)
"elchinolee": I wouldn't say it is bad, I just don't like it personally. My fave bands were Floyd and Purple but when I hear DT covers they leave me cold, I find their covers very "sterile" - note perfect but "sterile" - something missing, the body and soul that was there when Floyd and Purple created them originally. Thats been said by many on YTube and I personally agree with them. In the end its all personal taste and personal preference that's all.
Its all been done ... ( 1 week ago by HighwayStarSpeedKing)
Its all been done before: by Yes, Floyd, Purple. Yes had Tales of Topgraphic Oceans 1973 (yep 35 YEARS AGO!!!) a double album consisting of only 4 tracks - one per side of LP. Purple: check out the immortal Made In Japan, and even early Genesis were a prog rock band early 70's with Peter Gabriel on vocals with epic tracks such as Supper's Ready from 1972 album Foxtrot and other prog rock epics such as Music Box from 1971 album Nursery Cryme. Long tracks its all been done before - LONG before!
Last comment ... ( 1 week ago by HighwayStarSpeedKing)
Last comment starting "Its all been done before..." was in answer to 'deadhues' comment about not being able to believe musicians could construct and play a song lasting about 20 minutes long ;) Hence the response of early seventies Yes/Floyd/Purple (live) and even early prog rock 1971/72 P Gabriel era Genesis with the likes of Supper's Ready. Tales From Topographic Oceans (yeah not Tales "of" - my error!) being the ultimate - a double album four sided LP of only 4 tracks, one track per side.
The first side-long ... ( 6 days ago by teenagewasteland27)
The first side-long prog track was actually Tarkus by E.L.P. in '71. But in terms of quality, ACoS for me is second only to Supper's Ready for the label of Best Sidelong Ever.

Lots of those nots are off tune and in terrible spots. Thats what makes you even better of a player, you can actually get through this terrible chart. Goob job man, seriously.
