They started to decline in the 80's cuz everyone was doing way to many drugs to write music

To crazyguitaristJS: They did decline, but I think it was due to Iommi being the only founding Sabbath member for a while rather than drugs. However, towards the end of Ozzy's era the music did suck due to pressure and drug use. I think Ozzy was the worst, which was why he was kicked out.
