UWF was somewhere between shoot wrestling and puroresu. This was the incident that got Maeda fired from UWF. He apparently was mad that Sayama, who ran the promotion kept booking himself as winner and so took matters into his own hands. Not a class act in this case.

sayama appealed to the referee as being a strike to the groin(05:01). apparently it was not. the decision was wrong. maeda said later on the magazine, "that was no strike to the groin, hes a cowardice. i was glad the asshole had gone." maeda should have cleared himself with a mike.

It was a work shoot and both those guys are asses. Maeda is still an ass and so is Sayama but both are pro wrestling legends in Japan and Maeda is a pioneer in MMA.
So this fight was supposed to be a "worked" shoot but both guys got pissed and stopped "working" and started to "shoot" more and even ended with a shot to the groin. Maeda is an ass.

this is the infamous match when Akira Maeda shoots on Tigermask Sayama.This match consisted of Akira hitting Sayama in his nuts and giving stiff shots. After this incident Akira Maeda was fired by Antonio Inoki

Actually, this was UWF...Inoki had nothing to do with it. He'd already sent Maeda packing after shooting on Choshu and breaking his orbital bone. Sayama ran UWF, and fired him after this.
